Energage Recognizes CCH as 2021 Top Place to Work

Companies considered for the Top Workplaces award must have at least 150 employees and exist in multiple markets. CCH competed with 1,100 companies for its spot on the list.

Energage evaluates the companies based on an employee engagement survey. It compares the survey results against statements based on research, including 15 cultural drivers that are predictors of high performance in regard to industry standards.

More than an award, the recognition also serves as a benchmark for companies. In addition to illustrating a company’s resilience and business performance, it allows organizations to draw real-time insights to make informed decisions that facilitate positive impacts.

The Influential Business Women Awards

A New York University graduate, William Burns serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Cross Country Healthcare in Boca Raton, Florida. In that role, William Burns earned the chief financial officer award for turnaround achievement of the year from the South Florida Business Journal, a publication of American City Business Journals. The publication recognizes high-performing individuals in business through multiple award programs, including the Influential Business Women Awards.

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, American City Business Journals provides business news through local journals in 44 markets, including Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, California. Several individual Business Journals solicit nominations for influential businesswomen in order to reward women succeeding in their fields. The publications look for candidates who show strong leadership skills, execute innovative ideas, perform at a higher level than peers in their industry, and make a positive impact on their community.

The South Florida Business Journal will recognize the winners of its 2021 Influential Business Women Awards on April 9, 2021, during a virtual award ceremony. Each honoree also will be profiled in the printed publication.

Program Provides Educational Opportunities for Low-Income Families

William Burns received his master of business administration in finance and operations management from New York University. Based in Parkland, Florida, William Burns today serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Cross Country Healthcare. To augment his work, he belongs to Florida’s Institute of Chief Financial Officers. That professional organization supports the charitable work of Step Up for Students, which includes scholarship programs such as the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program.

Created in 2001, the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program is designed to allow all families access to private education or public schools outside of a student’s local area. Scholarships go to students attending kindergarten through 12th grade whose family meets income criteria.

The state’s low-income students have received more than 991,000 scholarships since the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program began. On average, scholarship students receive $6,673 to $7,169 in funds to attend local private schools. Statewide, nearly 1,900 private schools welcomed scholarship students throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. According to a study by the Urban Institute, scholarship recipients are 45 percent more likely to earn a college degree.

About the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Annual Light The Night Walk

William Burns stands out as a prominent member of the Boca Raton, Florida, business community who helps guide Cross Country Healthcare as vice president and chief financial officer. Outside his professional life, William Burns devotes himself to charitable endeavors in the community. For the past two years, he led the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS)“Light The Night” event in Boca Raton as Corporate Walk Chair.

In accepting this position, played an important role in an annual fundraising campaign that generates vital funds for research into blood cancer and care-accessibility initiatives. Across 150 communities spanning North America, survivors, family members, co-workers, and friends join together in fundraising walk teams. Participants hoist illuminated lanterns, with red lanterns representing supporters, white lanterns survivors, and gold lanterns those who have lost their lives to cancer. In addition, retail outlets manage donation campaigns that raise funds from area customers.
